Bikes Better To Ride In Minneapolis

There are many places around the United States where people have gotten into commuting on their bicycles and in some locations this has proven to be hard on some days because of the difficult weather being experienced by residents during the winter months. But some states have done their best to assist residents in their ability to get to work on their efficient bicycles with their bicycle helmets on and heavy jackets on their backs. One such state is Minnesota where Minneapolis commuters are getting some help to get to work in the colder months.

The city of Minneapolis set an ambitious goal of offering its residents the ability to commute to work in an easier fashion where they won’t come into contact with various cars and trucks on the road by creating over a hundred and fifty miles of roads created specifically for bicyclists. And bicyclists are now finding that it’s easier to get to work so this has encouraged additional people to take to the road on bicycles instead of in their automobiles and trucks. Surveys by the city suggest that at least thirty thousand bicyclists took to the roads in 2011 in Minneapolis.

Statistics show that even if a person can’t commute in the winter on a bicycle but they still commute for even a month during the warmer weather that they’ll potentially save hundreds on gas to say nothing of the amount of benefit to the planet that such commutes would offer regarding a reduction of fossil fuel consumption.
